AIRS Widgets
AIRS offers several widgets for your launcher screen (shown below):
- Event (upmost right): you can create event annotations by placing the AIRS Event button to your launcher screen. If you have selected recording of the EB sensor, a selector window will open that lets you select your current event annotation from your previously stored annotations. Alternatively, you can add a new annotation text to the list through the edit box at the bottom of the selector. In the Settings, you can define the maximum number of event descriptions that AIRS will save permanently. Long-pressing an event description allows for removing the selected description from the list. The selection is sent to AIRS to be recorded with a timestamp. AIRS confirms the recording of the button press by a haptic feedback (three pulses). Note that pressing when the local sensing is not running has no effect.
- Mood (middle right): you can record your current mood status. If you have selected recording of the MO sensor, a selector window will open that lets you select a pre-defined mood (ranging from happy over angry to sad). Alternatively, you can add your own mood description through the edit box at the bottom of the selector. The selection is sent to AIRS to be recorded with a timestamp. AIRS confirms the recording of the button press by a haptic feedback (three pulses). Note that pressing when the local sensing is not running has no effect.
- Heart rate (lowest right): you can measure your heart rate through the camera and the flash light. You need to subscribe to the IH sensor. When pressing the widget, a window will appear with a camera preview. You need to press your finger over the camera lens, also covering the flash light. Press the Start button with the other hand when you are ready and hold your finger (over the camera lens) still for at least 10 seconds. The measured beats per minute will appear in the window title bar. For accepting the value, press the Start button again, cancel otherwise. In order to spare the flash from running for too long, the measurement will cancel automatically after 30 seconds if you haven’t accepted the current value until then.
- Quick Start (upmost left): you can create shortcuts to settings for AIRS by choosing the Quick Start menu in the local recording screen. This allows for creating recording profiles with different settings, if desired. Pressing the shortcut widget will automatically start local recording with the settings that are stored with this shortcut.
Starting with Android 4.2, AIRS also supports the first three widgets to be placed on the lockscreen.
